Proposals for the island Kipsala in central Riga, where the new town is projected to be developed in different phases which can be gradually adapted on the basis of the necessities at any given specific time. The project is a synthesis of architecture, construction and landscape. It is a study in how to develop a flexible urban fabric that can meet future needs which are difficult to predict today. The proposal was part of the Europan 7 Competition and was awarded with first place.

Architect: Anders Kling, Sofia Nylén, Alf Orvesten, Anna Englund, Jasmina Jovanovic Holm and Sunniva Viking. Project: 1st prize in open competition for architects under 40 years, Europan 7 2003.
